Registered nurses are the most common health care professionals in the industry. They supervise LPN’s and CNA’s and are in charge of assigning tasks to the different people that work in the hospital. This can be a very challenging job at times – but in many ways it is rewarding.
What To Expect
As an RN you must understand that the level of responsibility is greater than any other health care professional, besides that of a doctor. That means you will be expected to work long hours during the days, nights, and weekends. You will also be assigned on call hours. That means that on certain days when you are called by your supervisor you are expected to come in.
With all this hard work comes a very rewarding paycheck. An RN will make very good money and have a great deal of benefits for their whole family. They are also given the chance to have very diverse jobs and to work in various states or even in other countries if they are certified.
It will be the job of the RN to care for patients suffering from any illness or injury. They will be able to perform examinations, think about the problem, and understand the best treatment to use. In order to become an RN you must have one of the following, an associate’s degree in nursing, bachelor’s degree in nursing, or a nursing diploma. When you have these you must then pass the national licensing examination.
Finding A Job
In order to find RN nursing jobs you need to prepare a resume that will show employers what education you have, where you have worked, and the skills that you have. Make sure it is proof read so that there are no mistakes. Also provide a cover letter and include any nursing experience that you have.
Hand deliver these resumes to the various hospitals you wish to work in or send them via e-mail if you wish to work in other states. Make sure to follow up with employers. They might take a few days or a couple weeks to get to your resume. Show them how badly you will work for the job.
